You can find my work at the Hermann-Grima House.

They have several pieces in the newly revived Women’s Exchange Shop. It’s a wonderful location and I am proud to be there. The French Quarter is such a great location for any artist and I am glad to have been selected by the jury for the Women’s Exchange Shop.

As always, my Artfire shop is open with many pieces for sale there.

Taking off in a new direction

As usual, I am exploring new techniques. When I am asked what style my art is, I know it doesn’t fall into any one category so I am often stumped my the question. I have difficulty choosing what media I work in let alone trying to explain radical departures in style.
In the studio I have been working on paintings that use my printmaking background. The idea began as a monoprint but quickly took off in another direction when I saw what can be done while using interesting tools to apply paint. Working on a small scale is enjoyable. Completing works in a relatively short amount of time is exciting.
These pieces are all for sale on Artfire. The Artfire community is a great place for showcasing art and I encourage people to take a look around. There are many artists with beautiful pieces showing their work in their storefronts. It’s inspiring to look around and see what people are creating.

The show at Studio 525 is coming down this week. I will be looking for a gallery or studio to hang things within New Orleans or Metairie soon.
On November 6th, I will be having an open studio holiday sale. Several artists and vendors will be on hand with some unique gifts for sale.

The drawing above, Sun, sold in April at Studio 525. I still have paintings and prints hanging there and have plans to bring along a few in the next week to replace those being sold. If you are in the Covington, LA area stop by the studio there to see what’s going on. It’s a great mixed use space in an historic building.
I’ve been on vacation the last few weeks but the studio as well as the Artfire store will be up and running again this week.

Studio 525 opening

April 17th was Spring for Art in Covington, Louisiana and it was a great turn out for downtown Covington’s art district. Studio 525, at 525 E Boston St was a great place for my first show in years.
I have several paintings which will be on display there for the time being. I’ll update when they are coming down. They are making a change in direction in the space and for now it will be both a dance studio and gallery. It seems to be a good match for the space and the people involved in it.
I got my Moo cards (www.moo.com) just in time for the opening and they, as usual, look great. I’ve been happy with their product, it’s high quality and also unique. I especially like the mini cards.
